My Shadow Island Adventure: Conquering the Tower and Earning the Token
Let me tell you about my recent journey to Shadow Island in Lost Ark. I had heard whispers about this small, foreboding place nestled in the North Vern Sea, right next to Shangra Island. From the outside, it didn't look like much, but I knew a 50-floor tower of danger awaited inside, filled with monsters on every level. My goal was simple: brave the tower, complete the quests, and walk away with that precious island token. With the promise of amazing rewards for collecting tokens across Arkesia, the incentive was too strong to ignore. So, I set sail, ready for whatever the island had in store.

When my ship finally docked, I was greeted by Mercenary Captain Zardin. He seemed like a weathered veteran who had seen his share of trouble. He handed me my first task, the Shadespire quest, which kicked off a chain of six adventures. I followed the path into the tower's ominous entrance and found Rakil standing off to the left. A quick chat with him, and just like that, the first quest was done! The rewards felt like a nice warm-up: 10 Splendid Guardian Stone Fragment Chests, 900 silver, 90 XP, and 7 Splendid Destruction Stone Fragment Chests. Not a bad start at all.
Rakil then pointed me toward the next challenge, called The Scent of Blood. My mission was to locate Mercenary Ganecron on the tower's second floor. The climb was no stroll in the park—each area was crawling with hostile mobs I had to fight through. Ganecron was waiting on the left side, just as described. After our conversation, I pushed onward to the fourth floor, where a grim scene unfolded. There, to the right, lay Kangal's body. I made sure to clear out the annoying mobs buzzing around first before examining his remains. With a heavy heart, I returned downstairs to deliver the bad news to Rakil. Completing this quest netted me some serious loot: 6 epic Splendid Harmony Leapstone Chests, 27 Splendid Guardian Stone Fragment Chests, 13 Splendid Destruction Stone Fragment Chests, 1,650 silver, and 165 XP.

The next phase had me speaking with Jenkrix, who was positioned right below Rakil. He tasked me with the Vile Debris quest, which sounded straightforward: defeat demons and collect 100 pieces of vile debris. I headed back up to the second floor, but this time, I was fighting soldier NPCs instead of monsters. It was a grind, taking out roughly 100 of them to gather enough debris. Once I had the full count, I returned to Jenkrix for my reward—another solid haul of upgrade materials and silver.
Just when I thought I was done with debris, Jenkrix hit me with another nearly identical quest, the Debris Gatherer. Yep, another 100 Vile Debris to collect. Instead of seeing it as a tedious chore, I decided to use it as a playground to test out different skill combinations and weapon strategies. It made the combat feel fresh and engaging. Turning in this second debris quest rewarded me with a similar, but slightly improved, cache of chests and experience.

For the fifth quest, An Important Record, I sought out Ryndon, who was located above Rakil. His mission sent me to the tower's fifth floor to defeat a beast named Rictus and recover Leshar's Record. When I first arrived, Rictus wasn't there, but I remembered hearing he respawns every five minutes or so. Sure enough, he appeared shortly after. The fight wasn't too bad, especially with other adventurers joining in. Upon his defeat, the record dropped, and I hurried back to Ryndon. He gratefully handed over an Epic Splendid Harmony Leapstone Chest, along with various other fragment chests, silver, and a nice chunk of XP.
Then came the grand finale: the Shadow's Mark quest. This one was a real test of endurance. I had to conquer 24 floors of the Shadespire tower itself. I opened my map, found the tower symbol in the upper left, and dove in. Each floor presented new challenges and enemies. It was chaotic, intense, and utterly exhilarating. When I finally cleared the 24th floor, the reward screen was a beautiful sight—a massive abundance of epic potions, chests, spell books, and more. It felt like a true victory lap for all the effort.

With the tower behind me, I returned to Shadow Island's main floor and spoke with Ryndon one final time to complete the quest chain. From start to finish, the entire ordeal took me about 30 minutes. It was a perfectly paced, action-packed half-hour that left me with a strong sense of accomplishment and, most importantly, the Shadow Island Token.
Now, let's talk about why these island tokens are such a big deal in Lost Ark. As of 2026, collecting them remains one of the most rewarding long-term pursuits. You can amass over 90 tokens across the world and exchange them for incredible, unique rewards at the Island Token Merchant. The costs scale up, starting from just 5 tokens and going all the way to 95 for the rarest items. Here’s a glimpse at what you can save up for (and yes, I'm already planning my next targets):
-
Greater Stat Increase Potion (5 Tokens) - A solid, foundational boost.
-
Emote: Threaten (10 Tokens) - Perfect for asserting dominance! 😤
-
Mount: Golden Moss Turtle (25 Tokens) - Who doesn't want a shiny turtle to ride?
-
Masterpiece #3, #22, #38 (30, 55, 75 Tokens) - Essential for collectors.
-
Luminous, Oceanic, & Tidal Aquamarines (40, 65, 90 Tokens) - Crucial for upgrading your compass.
-
Ship Skin: Tortoyk Arong Turtle (80 Tokens) - Sail the seas in style.
-
Procyon Statue (95 Tokens) - The ultimate prestige reward for the dedicated.

My adventure on Shadow Island was everything I hoped for. It had a clear, engaging structure, a good mix of combat and exploration, and a fantastic payoff. The quests flowed well from one to the next, and the final tower climb was a thrilling challenge. A quick word of warning for completionists: don't go looking for Mokoko Seeds here—you won't find any. This island is purely about the tower, the token, and the treasures it unlocks. If you're looking to bolster your collection of island tokens and grab some excellent gear along the way, set your coordinates for Shadow Island. Just be ready for a fight!
