Sailing to Hypnos’s Eyes: My 2026 Lost Ark Checklist
I’ve circled Arkesia enough times to know that some islands feel like a quick pit stop, while others unfold like an old nautical chart with too many annotations. Hypnos’s Eyes is the latter. Sailing into its pirate-run fortress for the first time, I felt like I had stepped into a theater where every cannon, hidden ladder, and rapport gift was part of the script. This island, introduced around Captain Blackfang’s early Luterra storyline, is home to Blue-Eyed Calvasus, one of the 'kings of the sea'. My 2026 logbook still marks it as one of the more rewarding detours in the Sea of Procyon.

Where Is Hypnos’s Eyes?
I found Hypnos’s Eyes sitting in the southern Sea of Procyon, a short sail north of Punika. The catch is that it is planted directly in level three Siren Seas, so my first attempt with an under-equipped ship felt like rowing a bathtub through a squall. Once you upgrade your ship’s resistances accordingly, the approach becomes much less stressful.

The Questline: A Detour Before the Detour
Oddly, the main questline for Hypnos’s Eyes does not begin on the island itself. I had to sail to Gravis, northeast of Hypnos’s Eyes, and speak with the Arthetinian Reporter Burnstein. He hands over a quest called 'Scoop, Hypnos’s Eyes'. I appreciated the narrative misdirection; it is a small reminder that Lost Ark likes to keep you moving like a message in a bottle.
The questline is straightforward. I picked up silver, a few virtue points, and a helpful pile of roster-bound tier two honing materials. Then the story ended in a bit of a mystery. The final quest, 'Unforgettable', is not automatically given. I had to interact with Reporter Burnstein’s camera, a hidden object located inside Blue-Eyed Calvasus’ home. Without that interaction, I would have left the island thinking the story simply stopped.

Island Soul and Blue-Eyed Calvasus
Hypnos’s Eyes keeps its Island Soul locked behind rapport with Blue-Eyed Calvasus. He is the very large, muscular, robotically enhanced pirate captain who runs the place. Trusting him is the only way to get the Island Soul, but he offers much more than that.
The full rapport climb is 38,200 points, which sounds like climbing a rigging rope with a lead anchor tied to your waist. Still, the reward stack made it one of the best rapport investments I have made outside of the main hub cities.
| Rapport Rank | Points Required |
|---|---|
| Neutral - Level 1 | 400 points |
| Neutral - Level 2 | 1,100 points |
| Amicable - Level 1 | 3,400 points |
| Amicable - Level 2 | 5,200 points |
| Amicable - Level 3 | 6,800 points |
| Friendly - Level 1 | 7,000 points |
| Friendly - Level 2 | 7,000 points |
| Friendly - Level 3 | 7,000 points |
Rapport rewards:
-
Normal rank: eight Ancient Gold Coins, worth 8,000 silver.
-
Amicable rank: two Bloodclaw’s Glittering Coins, worth 1,000 pirate coins.
-
Friendly rank: a vitality increase potion and a Calvasus card of epic quality.
-
Trusted rank: Hypnos’s Eyes Island Soul, 9th Giant’s Heart, Masterpiece #29, and three Tragon Blueprints.
An Island Soul, a Giant’s Heart, and a Masterpiece from one NPC is like finding a hidden cove with three separate treasure chests. If you have relic rapport gifts and are unsure where to spend them, Calvasus is a rare safe harbor.

Mokoko Seed Circuit
I ended up collecting five Mokoko Seeds on the island. Some were easy, others demanded that I politely investigate every pile of fish and wooden plank.
- Mokoko Seed One – In the southwestern portion, on the ship near the island entrance. It sits between a pile of fish and a set of stairs.

- Mokoko Seeds Two and Three – Both are in the tavern basement. I went behind the bar, found the hidden ladder next to Battery Commander Aldo, and climbed down. One seed is visible on the left, while the other is hidden under wooden planks in the bottom right corner.

- Mokoko Seed Four – In the northeastern part of the island, behind the Sluggish Engineer near the zipline back to the central arena.

- Mokoko Seed Five – In the ship hull on the easternmost portion. I went to the back of the floor where two cannons sit. The seed is tucked under the mouth of the cannon closer to the entrance; its leaves peek out from certain angles.

Una’s Task: The Defense
The island’s Una’s Task is called 'The Defense'. Each run drops me into the central arena like a gladiator defending a title through four rounds, ending with a boss. It is not a quick task, but the reputation milestones make it worthwhile.
-
Tier one – 20/20, two dailies: 17,000 pirate coins.
-
Tier two – 30/30, three dailies: 19,000 pirate coins and a stat increase potion.
-
Tier three – 50/50, five dailies: 36,000 pirate coins, a courage potion, and Predator of the Sea: Tragon.
The last reward begins the journey toward acquiring Tragon, one of Lost Ark’s powerful ships. Even if I did not care about the ship, the pirate coins are a strong buffer for other long-term projects, such as building the Astray. Since Hypnos’s Eyes is a tier two island, running it on a tier three character felt like bringing a cannon to a sparring match; most enemies went down in one hit, making the daily much smoother.

Overall, Hypnos’s Eyes is one of those islands I recommend treating as a slow, deliberate expedition rather than a speedrun. The collectible value, pirate coin rewards, and hidden-object quest beats are all part of the same sea chart. For me, the island ended up being a lighthouse: it demanded attention, but once I reached it, the route forward felt much clearer.
